Phil and I met almost 20 years ago at a channeling session in Boston... he approached me at the break and as we got to talking he said that when he had been in Egypt some weeks before, he was told that he would meet a woman who could help him to channel his guides "and you're it". Despite being taken somewhat aback, I had learned not to question these experiences, so I said sure, come around tomorrow and we'll see what we can do. He did, the session worked, and the rest is history. Although we moved in very different directions, at least geographically, over the next years, thanks to the Internet, we managed to stay connected... so it is with great pleasure that I welcome my old friend to the Global Psychics team.
Phil's journey, like mine, has been circuitous:
" Hello to all fellow travelers and future friends, My name is Phil Reckard, I am an intuitive/spiritual/experiential astrologer, and I do my best to offer practical advice for how to successfully maneuver through life's transits.
In my current incarnation, I have been a Boston (MA) cab driver, department-store stock clerk, professional musician, manager in various manufacturing industries, and award-winning novelist. For the past five years, I've been working in the natural foods industry, learning about herbs and dietary supplements, and furthering my awareness of the body/mind/spirit connection.
Born into the fundamentalist Christian tradition, I have learned to incorporate my personal past with the global present, and have investigated many paths and potentials for human growth. The Universal truths are that all things are connected and, to borrow from FDR, the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. I honor all exalted faiths, and view astrology as being complementary to any and all endeavors that are dedicated to looking forward and moving ahead. Implied here is that we can utilize our free-will to move beyond our current level of understanding, and this is my goal in all astrological readings.
Ever since I was a child, I would look up at the night skies and I intuitively knew that there was something "out there" that wanted me to find it. I started channeling higher energies during and after a spiritual journey to Egypt, including a private session in the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid. While this was in 1988, I am still a mindful student of these powerful energies. Epiphanies were abundant during my "Dark night of the Soul" in the early-mid 90's, culminating in the discoveries and viewing of the comets Hyakutake and Hale-Bopp. My life-long search for my place in the Universe soon became a serious self-led and intuitive education into the meaning behind the science of astronomy. I don't pretend to know all of the mysteries, but my current and ongoing spiritual path is inspired by my (natal) Gemini heart to always learn more.
Many astrological events were happening during the late 80's and 90's, and several well-meaning (yet slightly delusional) dear friends were frequently sending me articles from various astrologers, each telling us that the world would end, there would be earthquakes and floods, the Earth would tilt on it's axis, etc. I intuited that the fatalistic astrological approach was not for me, and I became determined to find the humanistic relevance and meaning to the Universal truths that astrology can help us find.
In the past few years I've taught classes on astrology, lectured, and written articles for an internationally distributed astrology newsletter. My natal and Progressed charts, and current planetary transits, are telling me that this is my life's purpose: to help individuals and groups evolve, and make this world a better place in any way I can.
